As an art and motorcycle enthusiast, Tammy was passionate about the family’s company
from the very beginning. Starting at the age 13, she would sell iron-ons
and patches on the weekends from a trailer with her mom and sisters while
her father and brother raced motorcycles. At the age of 18, she was designing
the artwork and hand cutting the screens for printing as the company took its
first steps into the world of screen printing.
In 1983, RK Stratman signed a contract with Harley-Davidson to print t-shirts
for their dealerships throughout the United States and Tammy was instrumental
in the negotiation of the contract. She held the position of CEO at RK Stratman
for almost 20 years, before passing away in August 2004 after a three-year
fight with brain cancer. Tammy lived, loved and worked with a passion like
no other and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Tammy’s passion lives on in the work of RK Stratman and the Tammy Stratman Brown
Charities Foundation. The Tammy Stratman Brown Charities Foundation benefits
cancer research, funds mission work, and furthers education through scholarships
and training programs. Tammy’s daughter, Rachel, sits on the foundation board
and has worked with RK Stratman in several capacities over the years. Tammy is
also survived by her youngest daughter Samantha.
